“So I applied to a magnet school. Now what happens?”

If you submitted your magnet application by the deadline, you should be receiving a letter this month to confirm that LAUSD has received your application. If any information needed to be corrected on this form, you will have the opportunity to correct it and resubmit.

Once this happens, THE WAIT BEGINS  icon_smile

It is not until May that LAUSD will notify you of your acceptance or your placement on the waiting list! So watch the mail! Especially in May!

  • Applications mailed to homes: NOVEMBER 7, 2008
  • On time Application deadline: FRIDAY, JANUARY 9, 2009 at 5:00 P.M.
  • Deadline to receive Late Applications (NO PSC): FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2009
  • Confirmation/Correction Letters mailed: FEBRUARY 2009
  • Gifted/High Ability/Highly Gifted Eligible/Ineligible Letters mailed: MARCH 2009
  • Notification Letters Magnet/PWT mailed: MAY 2009
  • PSC School of Choice Selection Letters mailed: MAY 2009
